Halloween costumes are only complete after a nice face makeup. In this post specifically, I will list a few ideas for vampire makeup that will make people see you as an intimidating and powerful creature.
The nicest aspect of Halloween for me is the possibility of being socially permitted to live in a fantasy world for some time. You can make your home look like a creepy crypt with creative Halloween decor, or go to the streets dressed up as anything you want, incorporating that character’s personality and not being embarrassed of it.
So, are you ready to channel your inner immortal lady of darkness?

Essentials of Vampire Makeup
The vampire makeup palette is dark. Purple, black, and red are the primary colors and a person can do a lot with it, from the blood effect to the living-dead dark circles around the eyes.
There are some basic elements to create a believable vampire makeup. Following the mainstream pop cultures from the occident revolving around these creatures of the night, a vampire makeup consists of:
- pale skin: Vampires are often depicted with very pale or even ashen skin. This is typically attributed to their lack of exposure to sunlight, as they are often believed to burn when touched by the sun. Fortunately, fiction is also finally portraying black vampires as well (Twilight, The Vampire Diaries, The Originals, and True Blood are some examples of TV shows with vampires who have brown or black skin) – as a brown woman who loves vampire myths, this makes me happy.
- Sharp fangs. It is possible to make vampire makeup nice and credible without fangs, but if you want more realistic makeup, I would invest in a nice one.
- Red or glowing eyes: You can create this effect in two different manners: One is by using nice red or white contact lenses. But if you are not comfortable with it, super shady red-eye makeup will do the trick.
- Blood and vein effects.
- Black eyeliner and big lashes also highlight the eye’s expression.
