Black, white & grey fitted sheets for standard crib & toddler mattress (28x52x6in)

Are you decorating a chic modern minimalist gender-neutral nursery? If the answer is yes, you need geometric black and white crib sheets and I’ll prove it to you in 4 points:

  1. Even if your baby will sleep in a box, you will have to buy fitted crib sheets. It is a real baby essential even for the minimalist mom. You will use it every single day (sometimes, more than one sheet a day) for years (as long as your baby fits the crib/ toddler mattress). Therefore, even if you buy super expensive linen, it will pay itself off! Our black and white crib sheets selection goes from $12.99 to $55.00, so you will find great deals!
  2. Are you style-conscious, fashionista, borderline OCD organized? In this case, you will not appreciate just any plain piece of fabric in the most premium real state area of the nursery! You probably spent a lot of hours creating a few mood boards, choosing the perfect modern crib, wall art, etc. So, if a fresh urban aesthetic matters to you, it’s important!
  3. Hopefully, your offspring will love to take long naps in his crib (a woman can dream!). But especially when he doesn’t, you will be in the nursery soothing, nursing, crying. And you will be looking at the crib sheets. So you better make sure you have the chicest modern sheets you love!
  4. When babies are born, they don’t see colors yet, only high contrast. Well, with black and white crib sheets they will be aware of your great sense of style from day one!

About safety

Always remember safety when buying baby stuff! The AAP and the CPSC recommend fitted crib sheets. And that’s it! No loose blankets, bumper, toys for the first year of life to prevent suffocation and SIDS.

It doesn’t mean you can’t have them, take gorgeous pictures and so.

If you choose to follow the safety recommendations, just remove the extra bedding and accessories during sleep hours and you have a win-win situation!

In case you have no idea what I’m talking about, read our Easy steps to the AAP safe sleep guidelines and make sure you and your baby sleep safe and sound even if only for a few hours a day.

How many crib sheets do I need?

For the on a budget or strict minimalist lifestyle, the golden (sanity) rule is to have 3 sheets: 1 being used, 1 clean, 1 to be washed. And trust me: you will wash them way too often during the newborn and pot training (24 months) stage.

Even though it is all fun and games during the decor stage, when baby arrives, you will grab whichever clean sheet you can put your hands on! So if you are style-conscious, prepare yourself in advance and make sure you only have sheets that will please your eyes.

In case you have extra cash, extra storage space, no minimalist policy, and no special love for laundry you will not regret a good stock up.

That being said, the basics you should look for in a crib sheet (besides being super cute and matching your nursery theme) are:

  • Fitted: not too loose, not too small.
  • Machine washable: I don’t have to extend myself here. 😉
  • Durable: a regular crib matters will last until toddler years, good sheets should stay in great shape for more than 1 year!

Of course, all the sheets you will see here match all the criteria above. And because delivery times are not back to normal yet, if you like it, you buy it!

My personal perspective: I am obsessed with bed linen. For me, sleeping is a ritual, and having clean, soft, fresh, matching bedding helps to soothe my mind. Of course, babies sleep don’t work that way, but babies are humans and an old, rough, dirty linen can’t possibly help with their sleep. So, even though a lot of people may overlook it, I don’t! We handpicked Maya’s sheets very carefully, after a lot of research and ended up with a mix of conventional and organic, but always high quality. The result is that after 18 months and a lot (really a lot) of washings later, the sheets are like new!
