Floral crib sheets work beautifully with so many nursery themes! The delightful flowers match nature-inspired, shabby chic, woodland, farmhouse, retro, and all sorts of girly, delicate, and bright nursery decor. Also, colorful flowers blossom feelings of happiness, joy, freedom, and awe. So, what better place to stimulate all that than in your little nugget crib? So, for this post, I selected the best and softest crib sheets in muslin, jersey, microfiber, organic cotton, flannel, and so on. You’ll find the prettiest flowers in watercolor, pink, purple, grey, with a vintage aesthetic, and whimsical gardens! Your baby will have the most enchanting sweet spot to dream the night away! Or at least the couple of hours she stays in there!
The AAP and the CPSC recommend that babies sleep only on fitted crib sheets during the first year. No soft beddings, loose blankets, or stuffed animals. If you have doubts about baby safe sleep, read our Easy steps to the AAP safe sleep guidelines.
All the sheets in this post are fitted (as recommended by the AAP) for standard crib mattresses, machine washable, soft (some more than others, of course), and durable! I hope you love them and find the perfect match for your dream nursery!

This Target crib sheet is a steal! It’s a bestseller and has hundreds (yeah, hundreds) of happy reviews. Moms love how vibrant the floral print is, how joyful the nursery looks, how beautiful it looks in the pictures, and that the print does not fade after washing. But some moms complained about it shrinking a bit after using the dryer, so you may wanna follow the drying instructions strictly. Finally, $10 for a certified non-toxic dye OEKO-TEX sheet? Yes, please!

This sheet has hundreds of positive reviews on the Target website and they are mostly about the superior quality of the fabric. So, what are hundreds of moms saying? They are super soft (which usually is the case for organic fabric in general, but Burt’s Bee seems to be the best for the buck), don’t pile, can take a load in the washing machine, and very importantly, fits the mattresses well.

I can’t stress enough our love for Crate&Barrel crib sheets! To say that my sister and I were broke when my niece was born is an understatement! So, we joined forces and decided to shop for the best and most durable essentials we could with the strict budget we had (if you see my excel sheet!). My sister bought 2 printed crib sheets from Crate&Barrel and I bought 1 solid white from Natemia. Then we hoped that they would be soft and last long enough. Best decision ever. Baby Maya is past 2 years old, she still sleeps on those sheets and they are in great shape! No piling and absolutely no fading. Our aunt gave her another pair of sheets, but they only make it to the mattress when the others are dirty.

In general, organic sheets are super soft and pile resistant. When Maya was born we only had 3 sheets and they were all organic. She still sleeps on them, almost 2 and half years later and no piling. But it doesn’t mean that non-organic fabrics are not soft! Also, few things are more personal than softness level! Some parents prefer organic sheets for babies for that reason whereas others prefer it for ecological/ideological reasons. If that’s the case, here are the basic differences between organic and GOTS certified fabric, the most popular certification for organic fabric.
What is the difference between GOTS-certified and non-GOTS certified organic cotton?
An organic label states that the cotton seeds used to produce that fabric are non-GMO and do not use pesticides!
The GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) is an independent body that certifies the entire production chain, not only if the seeds are organic. It takes into consideration human and environmental aspects like slave work and water pollution as well.

How Many Crib Sheets Do I Need?
For extreme minimalists or the lowest budget, I recommend the hotel rule of 3 sheets per bedroom. That’s the minimum to almost always have 1 in use, 1 dirty, and 1 clean. That works if the laundry schedule is as strict and organized as in a hotel.
For a household with a newborn and their surprises, you can go by with 3, but that’s a risky life! Of all the itens in baby’s essentials list, a small stach of crib sheets definitely make your life easier!
